About this mock interview
Is it really free?
Yes. The questions, reading them aloud, the transcript and the pace and length measurements all run in your browser, so there’s no limit on practice. AI feedback on a round is free 3 times a day without an account.
How does answering out loud work?
Your browser’s built-in speech recognition writes down what you say. It works in Chrome, Edge and Safari; in Firefox, type your answers instead. To transcribe, the browser may send your audio to its maker’s speech service (Google for Chrome, Microsoft for Edge, Apple for Safari). CandidThread never receives your audio.
Is what I say stored?
No. Your answers stay in your browser. If you ask for AI feedback, the questions and your answers are sent to the AI to score them and aren’t saved. We keep a record that the tool ran (not what you said) and a scrambled form of your IP address for up to two days, to limit AI feedback to 3 rounds a day.
What does the AI feedback look at?
Content (is it specific, does it answer the question) and structure (Situation, Task, Action and Result for “Tell me about a time” questions; a clear point for the rest). Each note quotes your own words. Pace and filler words are measured separately, in your browser.
How is this different from mock interviews in CandidThread?
