Add it to Chrome in about a minute
The extension isn’t on the Chrome Web Store yet, so you install it from a download. It works the same way, and it tells you when there’s a new version to download.
- 1Unzip itOpen the download and extract it. You get a folder named candidthread-extension-0.1.0.
- 2Open the extensions pagePaste this into the address bar:
chrome://extensionsIn Edge, use edge://extensions. - 3Turn on Developer modeThe switch is at the top right of that page (bottom left in Edge). Chrome may remind you it’s on; that’s expected.
- 4Load unpackedClick “Load unpacked” and choose the folder from step 1. Pin the C button to the toolbar, click it, and connect your account.

What it does
The whole job ad, not a link
Job ads come down, often before the interview. The extension saves the full description with the details around it, so you can prepare from what the employer actually wrote.
- Title, company, location, remote or hybrid, salary
- Posted date and closing date where the site shows them
- Skips jobs you’ve already saved
Company careers pages too
Many employers post jobs on their own careers site, built on Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby or SmartRecruiters. The extension reads those, and any other page that publishes the job’s details in the standard format search engines use.
Reads only what you ask it to
The extension looks at a page only when you click its button. It doesn’t track your browsing, and it talks only to your CandidThread account.

Chrome extension in four steps

Why isn’t it on the Chrome Web Store?
It’s on its way. Until it’s listed, you install it from a download, which takes about a minute. Installed this way, Chrome doesn’t update it on its own; the extension tells you when a new version is out.
What if a page can’t be read?
Select the job description on the page and click the extension to save the selection, or paste the job ad into CandidThread.
Does it work in Edge, Brave or Firefox?
It works in Chrome and Microsoft Edge, and in other Chromium browsers such as Brave. Firefox isn’t supported.
What permissions does it need?
Permission to read the current page when you click it, to know the job sites’ addresses (so it can show when a job is already saved), and to store its connection to your account.
